An Approach to Divide Wind Power Capacity Between Day-Ahead Energy and Intraday Reserve Power Markets

Wind power producers have recently gained a significant penetration in the electric network, which might cause some challenges for system operation due to uncertainties generated power. In this way, wind owners may offer different services, such as providing reserve capacity besides their conventional role of delivering just energy. Currently, generators are main responsible case uncertainty renewable generation and demand changes. Therefore, article introduces novel approach that allows participate both energy markets alongside generators. A two-stage stochastic programming model is deployed purpose proposed examined on IEEE RTS 24-bus. The simulation results demonstrate ensuring higher level reliability by suggested scheme, will receive more revenue markets, although demands should pay more.
